Summary:
Developing high-quality female human resources, especially female human resources, for scientifc research is always prioritized by the Party and State. Terefore, different guidelines, policies, and laws are promulgated and implemented in order to achieve gender equality in the feld of science and technology and promote women to make active contributions to the development process of Vietnam. However, the gap between male and female participation in scientifc research activities remains quite big. Te article mainly uses document analysis and synthesis methods which help to analyze the policy and legal system of Vietnam in promoting the women’s participation in science and technology activities, providing some achieved results, causes and challenges. Te research results show that the system of policies, laws and regulations related to the rights of women’s participation in activities in the feld of science and technology is becoming more and more complete, and consistent with the international treaties adopted by Vietnam. However, the results of the implementation of regulations still have limitations, such as: the quality of female human resources involved in science has not met the actual needs; although there is an increase in number, the division is unstable and unequal in all felds, especially the limited participation of women in the technology feld.
