SOME ISSUES FOR THE EXCESS BUT THE SHORTAGE OF VIETNAM’S ELECTRICITY INDUSTRY

In recent years, the electricity demand for living and production in Vietnam has been increasing. To meet the demand for electricity consumption, the electricity industry has continuously developed and significantly invested to expand the network and improve supply capacity. Besides, the electricity industry has had strong development, especially in renewable energy. Solar power was put into operation with a record capacity (5,000 MW), bringing Vietnam to the top of Southeast Asia in terms of power system scale. Although Vietnam’s installed electricity capacity has increased sharply, supply exceeds demand, but in recent years, there have been frequent warnings that the risk of electricity shortages is becoming more and more severe. Rotating power cuts in many urban and industrial zones and residential areas greatly affects the lives of people as well as the production and business of enterprises. The adversity of excess and shortage of electrical energy needs a new, effective and feasible solution
