MỘT SỐ MÔ HÌNH CÔNG TÁC XÃ HỘI TRONG BỆNH VIỆN TRÊN THẾ GIỚI VÀ BÀI HỌC KINH NGHIỆM CHO VIỆT NAM

Through the past 100 years, social work has been used as a powerful tool to solve social problems. The vocation has been introduced in many different areas such as: working with disadvantaged people (children with special circumstances, people with disabilities, etc.), working in courts, schools and especially in hospitals. Social work in hospital setting plays an important role in improving the quality of medical examination and treatment. Based on the combination of literature review (documents published officially both in Vietnam and abroad) and a study of social work models in some central hospitals, the research team found that despite the existing circulars guiding the operation of social work in hospital, social work models in Vietnam hospitals remain inadequate. Services are found to be fragmented, disconnected between higher and lower level hospitals, unprofessional and charitable, marketing-related. Based on an additional literature review, the reserchers selected and presented social work models from hospitals in the United States, Singapore, Australia and India, which will be analyzed and evaluated to derive constructive and beneficial learnings for Vietnam.
